Laparoscopic Splenectomy VS Open Splenectomy

Hello All!!

I am undergoing Laparoscopic Splenectomy surgery next week and was wondering if anyone is willing to share their experiences with this versus Open Splenectomy. I am looking to find out how long you were off work or school etc. What was healing like? Was your experience a pleasant one? I am trying to prepare myself mentally for the operation. Your shared experiences would be greatly appreciated.

I am sorry. I cant help you. I'd mine when i wasn't even 3 years old. Sadly I do remember some things. Dont worry, the technique is further at the moment. I dont think you will have lots of pain.
