Thank u for thalforum, many information i got about disorder blood, specialist thalassemia arround the world hospitals and medical treatments.
I have baby 11 months got thal Major just 1 week ago, now I planning want bring my baby for medical treatment special in USA, Canada or Europe for Transplant Bone Marrow.
From this forum I got many information about hospitals that I need It, but the problem I need information detail about;
* How much cost can be for BMT with donor Macth or Unmacth ?
* How much cost for medical treatment untill patient complated fine ?

hi there,

I am deseperate to get Ferriprox does anyone can help with this matter, as my niece leave in Algeria and the medication is not available. could you please help or give name of anyone who can help.

I leave in Spain Barcelona but I tried to buy it and they said That I will need a prescription which I do not have as here they do not accept algerian prescription.

Hi Tala,
If I were you, I would have tried U.K. Thalassaemia Society in London to procure iron chelating drug Ferriprox since you are based in Spain. It is just a loud thinking since you have to arrange despatch of the drug to Algeria for your neice.

It is really pathetic to know that relations who are so very consious of treating their kin properly face such hurdle. You may, for that matter, contact NOVARTIS locally and see if they could arrange for this drug directly in Algeria.

Thanks for your kind email

I did try to contact all this people and believe me that I sends email to a lot of profesor in Thalasimia in Spain and in the world, the solution of my problem is to have a prescription from UK doctors because the price of it is 1.98pound. the prescription I have is from Algeria and of course they do not accepted.
I am trying to get in contact with any doctor who will be kind enough to give me the prescription as my niece need to take Ferriprox for 10 months.

I swear that she is such brillant student and she have a lot of hope to keep fighting but sometimes is to hard for her that she miss the school I am aware that if she does not take this medication she can get a heart attack as the iron will be too much on her body. anyway I am trying to do all I can to get this medications

Dear Tala,
I am sorry to disturb you again but would like to know from you if DESFERAL - subcutaneous iron chelator is available in Algeria or KELFER - more commonly known in the world as L1 - another oral iron chelator?
If any of these drugs is available, you must opt immediately till you manage for EXJADE.
You may approach T.I.F. Nicocia - CYPRUS for your requirement fand I am sure, they will be able to extend all possible assistance.
