once again i'll say thanks its an amazing site, my dad & mom are going abroud for a month & I required a blood donor.couple of days before i gave my name in the site you refered & today a lady called me and said i'll like to donate blood for you.

hi guys,
well these days we in new delhi are having acute shortage of blood and red cross seems to be helpless .
and i used this site for the first time , i called 2 persons staying in delhi and only at one phone call they agreed to donate blood for me .
this is an example how this site can be useful for all of us in india.

Be careful, while selecting donors available on this or other web sites.
I would like to share one experience.
One off my friend, whose son has thal mjr, put a request for a blood donor on such site, a donor approached voluntarily who works with s/w co, and very egger to donate blood, found to be HIV+, it seems to, he was aware of this.

I request all thals to depend only on known donors and blood banks, which follow strictly FDA norms.

I would like to clear one thing; I do not doubt well heartiness of voluntary donors, but I am sharing the experience.

well mr sanakh,
i dont think we have to worry about this isssue as all the blood banks do the necessary testing after the donation , bt yes your concern is right you might get a donor who dont know about his/her medical status and go for donation.
