Adult Thals Meet At Nizamuddin(delhi) - Thalforum

Dear All,

This is to inform you that THALASSEMICS INDIA is holding a special meet of the ADULT thalassemics on 3rd June, 2007 at their Nizamuddin Office AT 1 PM. the objective of this meet is to bring the adult thalassemics together in order to discuss the probable awareness programs, etc. The fact that thalassemics have started attaining majority is a cause for celebration, but the fact that they are NOT AT ALL coming forward to put efforts for the cause is something to be ashamed of! Iit is with this view in mind that the society has decided to organise this urgent meeting with the adult patients.
If you wish to justify ur place on this earth, do come forward n give a helping hand...

The efforts you guys are putting is what we need. Way to go my friend.

It definately sounds like a good idea to have the adults meet. I know here(in USA) at thal conference's, there is seperate meetings for thal's, so that they can share whats going on with them. Also, that way thal adults can see there are many more like them and come out of the "I-dont-want-to-reveal-my-thal" thinking.

Vikas --> Is this for adult thal patients only or are parents of thal children welcomed at the meeting?(It seems like it is for adult thals from the title, but wanted to confirm - just in case some young parents might be able to help) Also, may be the importance of Chelation can be stressed out

Is it going to be a regular feature, I mean:

1. are you guys going to meet every week or every month?
2. can somebody from out of Delhi participate?
3. what exactly is the topic of discussion going to be?

I am asking this because, I might be interested to attend this, but because of a blood camp this 3rd I won't be able to attend this time...............so if there is going to be repeated meetings I can plan accordingly if I have the schedule of meetings.

not exactly , this meeting is basically to unite all the adult patients and take all of them together to fight against awareness and in this cause if any of the parent wants to join we are v happy in that. we only have one gaenda of that meeting and that is awareness , how to go for mass awareness.

prince paaji we'll be v happy if you join us in our efforts and it is all depended on tom's meeting that do we have to meet every week.

Our blood donation camp at nizamuddin is on 23rd of june and we are using this as also an opportunity to meetup for our second meeting. we need to get more feedback and set an agenda for the next task to be done. All are welcome to join in and/or send their views. I am sure together we will be able to achieve alot..........lets not sit back anymore.............the time for the meeting will be announced later by anubha and vikas........may god give us the strength to pursue what we are trying to do...........keep the efforts coming........god bless and love

Hey guys...

I understand that Meenal, Prince, Ralph and other people out of Delhi were not informed in time when the first adult thalassemics' meet happened last time. This time around, all you guys have been informed more than two weeks before so you can plan your trip to Delhi. So be there in order to justify you complaints! It would be a great idea if atleast some of you could make it to Delhi and even get a couple of donors for us here. As I understand, the agenda of the meet this time is far more serious than last time's. All the members are going to have a brain storming discussion on how to handle the problem of the treatment of thalassemics in Delhi - the problem that has assumed a huge stature of late. Besides this main agenda, the regular topics like blood donation, awareness, mandatory testing for thalassemia etc. will also be discussed. So, all of you are requested to send in your ideas, etc before the meeting so that the members can chart out a systematic plan for the meeting.
The members also expect Neeta, Neeti and Ms Taneja to have started working on their respective projects.
All of you are welcome to attend the meeting on 23rd June.
As Ms. Singh mentioned, the timings of the meeting would be announced very soon.

guys due to some reason our meeting has been postpone , new date and time will be flashed soon but yes blood donation camp is still there , we all have make it a sucess , so guys confirm me the no of donors you'll be bringing along with you.

we all have to work together for the cause , so pull up your socks guys and lets get going.
